

Bély focuses his practice on assisting in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications as well as drafting opinions on the patentability of inventions, primarily in the chemical and mechanical arts. He also regularly advises and renders opinions on freedom to operate, infringement and validity matters. Bély also has experience analyzing and responding to Office actions in a variety of foreign jurisdictions.
During law school, Bély served as an editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property.
Prior to entering the legal field, Bély worked as a process engineer for Baerlocher USA. He was responsible for improving the efficiency of industrial pelletizing and powder blend production processes, and developing trial plans for new plastic additive blends.
